Area farms to be highlighted on NBC-17 Feb. 25

Diane and other guests await their "My Carolina Today" tapings on NBC-17

Update: See the TV segment and radio show, linked below. Went well!

Phew, had a mini-media blitz for the book today, including taping a 3-minute segment on “My Carolina Today” on NBC-17, followed by a very fun and free-wheeling chat with “SideDish” radio show hosts Deborah Miller and Jay White of A Southern Season.

The TV segment is slated to run tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. Not sure where I’ll be in the hourlong segment, but look for quick pics and mentions of the following farms: Vollmer Farm in Bunn, Spence’s Farm in Chapel Hill, Fickle Creek Farm in Efland, the Inn at Celebrity Dairy in Siler City, and Jordan Lake Christmas Tree Farm in Apex.

Diane prepares to chat on the WCHL's 'SideDish'

The radio show will air on WCHL 1360-AM, Sunday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. and then again on Saturday, March 5, at 11 a.m.

My publicist, btw, told me to wear a necklace. Mine is from Raleigh jewelry designer Lauren Van Hemert. Love her work!

Wow! Diane, you were terrific on My Carolina Today – you stole the show! The host was talking way too fast, and didn’t sound geniune – you slowed the pace but kept the tempo up when you concisely shared highlights – maybe you have found a new career? Your enthusiasm shone thur! (and good posture too!) CONGRATS!

Thanks, Alice. My years of doing a show with the Boston Globe helped greatly in that I’m not nervous. At least not on local news. The Today Show might be a different story! I think I’ll stick to writing, though!
